About Kerri-Lee Benson
OMG Pillows – The Exciting Start
In 2009, Kerri-Lee discovered a unique device that would become the foundation of The OMG Pillow. Inspired by its potential, she transformed the application of a Class 2 medical device to be nestled into a foam envelope, within a wide range of washable designer fabric options to suit any home.
Kerri-Lee’s journey began with a pair of quirky vibrating slippers she found at a garage sale. Though she loved the sensation, their appearance was a problem. This sparked her vision to create a pillow that combined functionality with beauty, allowing users to enjoy the benefits without compromising on aesthetics.
With a lifelong passion for both design and sewing, Kerri-Lee crafted her first prototype from leftover fabric. When she shared it with friends and family, their enthusiasm confirmed she was onto something big. After months of planning, she launched her first product at a craft show, and there’s been no turning back. Over the past 16 years, she has sold OMG Pillows across Canada, the USA, and beyond.
Kerri-Lee, a self-taught designer and artisan, is driven by color, texture, and sustainability. Her mission is to create beautiful, multi-functional items using rescued materials, turning waste into something extraordinary. From a young age, she embraced entrepreneurship, even funding her first solo flight at 11 yrs old, by offering neighborhood services. This entrepreneurial spirit has fueled her journey, and she remains dedicated to making her dreams—and those of her customers—come true.
